Your blanket does not exist until you order it. That one fact explains the wait, the stock levels, and why the cancellation window is so short. Here is the whole sequence.
What happens after you click
- Your order is routed. It lands with our print partner, which picks the facility closest to your address. For US orders that is usually a facility in the United States.
- The blank is printed. A white velveteen blank goes under a heat press with the transfer sheet. The artwork is sublimated into the fibers, the edges are sewn with a double-needle topstitch, and the blanket is checked and packed.
- It ships. USPS or UPS scans the package and you get a tracking email.
- It arrives. Tracking can take a day or two to show its first scan, so do not worry if the number looks dead at first.
The exact production and transit windows, and the daily cut-off time, are written once in the Shipping Policy and nowhere else, so there is only one set of numbers to keep straight.
The cancellation window is short for a reason
You can change the address or cancel while the order is still queued. Once the press runs, the blanket has your design on it and cannot go back on a shelf, because there is no shelf. After that point the return policy takes over instead.
Why we do not keep stock
Every design comes in three sizes. Holding stock would mean guessing how many of each size of each design to buy, then discounting whatever guessed wrong. Printing to order means every design in the range is always available, nothing gets marked down to clear a shelf, and nothing is thrown away. The trade is time: you wait weeks instead of days.
What it means for gift timing
Work backwards from the date you need it, add the full window from the Shipping Policy, and give yourself a few days of slack. Business days are Monday to Friday and skip US federal holidays, so a Friday evening order effectively starts on Monday.
If something goes wrong
Email support@silkcrowns.com with your order number. If tracking has stalled past the estimate we replace the order or refund it, your choice. If it turns up damaged, send two photos. The Returns & Refunds policy covers what happens next, including exchanges for a different size.
